The benefits of family businesses shine through at Barrington

..

Since the trio of Cahill brothers - Steven, Tom and Jonathan - founded the Cahill Building Group in 2011, they have earned an impressive reputation for creating luxurious, boutique homes with a high-end point of difference.

Their vision is to redefine the residential landscape on the idyllic Mornington Peninsula.

To help them do that in one of their latest projects - the impressive Barrington property that has been designed in the grand style of an English seaside manor - they chose stunning timber moulding products from the huge range at Australian Moulding and Door Company (AMDC).

Steven Cahill says the spectacular property is the fifth project they have collaborated on with AMDC’s design experts - and the results are nothing short of impressively elegant.

“The first project was actually my own home - and we were sort of transitioning from townhouses to custom homes and we were looking for something different than what we’d been using before,” he says.

“What you were offering was exactly what we needed.”

Collaboration that’s custom-made for quality

The collaboration means that Barrington has what Steven describes as “all the basics - doors, architraves, skirting boards, skirting blocks”, plus the bespoke touches that come from interior design expertise and the unique beauty of AMDC’s custom-made and manufactured timber mouldings that ensure Barrington is is imbued with a sense of superior style.

The custom-made curved architraves, porthole windows and wall mouldings that AMDC was commissioned to create especially for Barrington have added a level of detail that amplifies the coastal charm of this prestigious location, while maintaining a gentle grace.

But, as is often the case with things that look so effortlessly beautiful, precision is essential.

“Our custom window is an oval window … and everything was right the first time,” says Steven of the window’s “tricky elliptical curve” that runs off a dual-axis and required the AMDC team to create a customised template to construct the special timber mouldings.

“It was not something we’d done before and, fortunately, we had (AMDC) with us to get it right.”

Steve says the ambitious inclusion of this oval custom window “adds so much romance and whimsy and makes it a really beautiful space”.

The motivation to keep coming back to AMDC to deliver the high-quality timber moulding products that ensure their own clients have superlative home design experience is something Steven says is multifaceted.

“Quality product … the communication’s always open, and we always get a solution, in the end,” he says.

“We appreciate working with other family businesses. Those qualities come through in the customer service, I think.”
